After taking part in the usuals, visiting family, talking to friends, it was important to get back to what truly mattered - Sports.
Luckily I got to enjoy a few of the week's events before getting settled down to watch the Lonestar Showdown (where I back the Aggies every year, gig 'em!) then it was time to get back into the swing of Marshall University athletics. Women's basketball, Men's hoops and Herd Football were all in the fold from Pittsburgh, to El Paso.
It pains me to recall, but the night did not end well for this fan. Men's Basketball triumphed over rival Ohio University, but the other two faltered. Which has for the most part, become the standard for the football squad these past few seasons. Although it would appear that embattled head coach Mark Snyder would be on his way out with in the next 24-48 hours if the rumor mill is correct.
Irregardless of who is at the front of the football team next year, or the results of any of the teams I follow, the break is most important. Sure at times I don't really enjoy it, but that is because I am so used to the hectic pace of my life. I guess that's my little moral in this story, love what you do, but don't forget to love the pauses, even if they are brief.
Now, where did that stat sheet go?
Back to the grind.
