Pennington Not Involved with MU Coach Search

According to a statement released earlier today by Former Marshall QB Chad Pennington, he is in no way affiliated with the University's search for the next Head Coach. However, it's what Pennington alludes to that I find the most interesting.

"However, because of my relationship with former coaches and my strong belief in Coach Bob Pruett, I cannot objectively give my input in this process."

It had been rumored that Pruett was on the short list, and I can't help but wonder if this is truth now. It makes me cringe slightly to imagine a world in which Bobby Pruett is the Marshall Head Coach again. Granted he did do some great things here, but he also left the university in a world of hurt when he left.

I don't know if this is the truth or some elaborate ploy to throw people off the Butch Jones trail, neither would surprise me at this point.

The statement can be read here at the Huntington Herald-Dispatch site.
