Another season has come and gone, almost anyway. Basketball season for the Herd wrapped up last night for the men and tonight for the women. Which explains why there has not been a chance to post anything on this place for some time. I've been busy running from one game to the next, putting together reports in between and then there's the whole full-time student thing as well.
So another press pass joins the collection for this seasons and quickly things roll right into baseball and softball.
Got a busy weekend coming up with the Marshall Softball Holiday Inn-vitational at Dot Hicks Field in Huntington, WV. Engineering the first game on friday then hitting full stride on play-by-play duties with the second game of that day and then 4 more games over the next two days.
This tournament exactly one year ago was my first chance as a broadcaster to work from the pilot's chair. Since that time I have been the primary on multiple men's and women's soccer broadcasts, even a volleyball game and a men's basketball game(MU vs ECU). Then there is of course the numerous softball and baseball games I called last year.
It just so happens that these are my favorite sports to do pxp for, the pace is slow enough that you can get everything in, and then you basically get to shoot the shit on the air for a couple hours. It's not a bad gig, usually you just end up at the field all day, but when I think about it, I could be off picking up trash all night, so things could be worse.
Don't really have anything to add to this post as far as getting anyone up to speed, but as late as I am with this post I figure you already are, so until next time, whenever that is; Keep your stick on the ice.
